Madbear Emails (“the Extension,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains how Madbear Emails handles data when you use our Chrome extension.
1. Overview
Madbear Emails is a Chrome extension designed to help users send personalized bulk email campaigns using Gmail and Google Sheets. The Extension allows users to merge spreadsheet data into email drafts and send campaigns directly from their Gmail account.
2. Information We Access
To provide its core functionality, the Extension may access the following information only when initiated by the user:
- Google Sheets data selected by the user for mail merge campaigns
- Gmail compose data needed to create and send personalized emails
- User preferences and settings stored locally in Chrome storage
- Basic authentication tokens when authorized through Google OAuth, if applicable
3. How Information Is Used
The accessed information is used solely to operate the Extension’s stated purpose:
- Creating personalized email campaigns
- Inserting spreadsheet data into email templates
- Saving templates and user preferences
- Managing campaign workflow inside Gmail
We do not use user data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
4. Data Storage
Madbear Emails primarily stores settings and temporary campaign preferences locally using Chrome storage. We do not permanently store email content, spreadsheet contact lists, or Gmail messages on our servers unless clearly disclosed in a future feature update with separate consent.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information with third parties.
User data is only processed as necessary to interact with Google services requested by the user (such as Gmail or Google Sheets).
6. Remote Code / Third-Party Services
Madbear Emails does not use remote code that changes extension functionality outside the Chrome Web Store review process. If third-party APIs are used in the future, they will only be for functionality directly related to the Extension and will comply with Chrome Web Store policies.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data processed by the Extension. However, users are responsible for maintaining the security of their Google account and browser environment.
8. User Control
Users may stop all data access at any time by:
- Disabling or uninstalling the Extension
- Revoking Google account permissions (if granted)
- Clearing extension storage through Chrome settings
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the Effective Date.
